ADU – Accessory Dwelling Unit
Needing more space for your visiting family members? Considering an Accessory Dwelling Unit on your property? (Also known as a Mother-In-Law suite, guest house, or independently functioning dwelling unit) Florida is actively expanding ADU possibilities to address affordable housing. For instance, Clearwater adopted new standards in 2024 for ADUs, while Pinellas County permits them with specific size and design constraints. Tampa allows ADUs in specific districts, with others limited to “Extended Family Residence” use.
